Sorting Food for Community Partners Serving 14 Counties
The Reynolda Equity Partners team spent the majority of a day this Winter sorting both dry goods and frozen foods, then packaged them for community partners to pickup to distribute to people in need. Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC moves between 35 – 40 tons of food through their warehouses every day, then out to their network of ~500 partner programs (supporting 14 counties), many of which rely on that location for the majority of the food they provide.

Providing Meals to Local Community
Reynolda Equity Partners provided and served lunch at the Winston-Salem Street School (“WSSS”) in Fall 2023. The WSSS a private alternative high school with a small, “intensive care” educational environment serving the at-risk youth of the greater Winston Salem area of North Carolina. It is designed to meet the needs of students who struggled in traditional schools due to academic or behavioral obstacles. The WSSS was created to target these students and offers them the chance to earn a diploma recognized by the State of North Carolina.

Winston-Salem Heart and Stroke Walk “Best Friend Friday” Sponsor
Reynolda Equity Partners supports our community and various causes throughout the year and in many different ways. REP is participating as a sponsor for this year’s Winston-Salem Heart and Stroke Walk on Sunday, October 23. Specifically, REP is the sponsor of “Best Friend Friday.” During the “Week of Wellness” leading up to the walk, the American Heart Association will promote how owning a pet can benefit heart health. They will encourage participants to bring their dogs to the walk and on walk day, they will host a “Top Dog” contest for people to have photos taken of their dog (which they will post on social media), and the dog with the most “Likes” wins!

2022 Habitat for Humanity Team Service Day
Our team enjoyed partnering with Habitat for Humanity again to work on 4 homes in our community. We refined our rebar, roofing, truss, flooring and fascia skills. The neighborhood that we have served in for the last two years is a new development of 74 planned homes, of which 6 have been completed. We worked on 3 of those homes in 2021 and have enjoyed seeing and being a part of the progress this Habitat neighborhood is making.

Samaritan Ministries Young Professionals Night at The Winston-Salem Dash Sponsorship
Reynolda Equity Partners sponsored the “Home Runs for Project Cornerstone” Young Samaritans event for Samaritan Ministries on Friday, May 6^th at the Dash game.

Samaritan Ministries focuses on homelessness within Winston-Salem (https://www.samaritanforsyth.org/about/). REP has supported their mission with charitable donations and in-person volunteering in the past, but this event was a way to activate and educate people who may not be as aware of what Samaritan is doing in our community. This event was through their “Young Samaritans” program, which serves to build awareness among a younger set of professionals in the area.

Project Cornerstone is a long-term residential recovery program serving men with a history of substance abuse who are also experiencing homelessness. Project Cornerstone focuses on addressing addiction as one of the core causes of homelessness and helping eliminate barriers to employment and permanent housing. The program has an 80% success rate.
